APCD2 Coupling Disc SISTRUM APPLICATIONS

The geometrical design of the APCD2 Coupling Disc draws energy away from the tip of the Audio Point™ and transfers it to the surface upon which the disc resides. Likewise the geometry when reversed or turned upside down will draw the Coulomb’s Friction to the tip of the inverted Audio Point atop Sistrum’s Direct Coupled Audio Points. The APCD2 functions in either application as the resonant energy is always being directed towards earth’s ground. The primary function of the APCD2 is strictly surface protection.

Please note: Should you invert an Audio Point on any existing rack, shelf, or surface other than a Sistrum Platform, you will feel inclined to immediately phone us demanding a refund as you have just reversed our geometry, thus destroying the Audio Points primary function. Except for the use involving Sistrum Platforms, the tip of the Audio Point must always point to earth.

Currently 42% of all Sistrum owners have opted for the APCD2 to provide surface protection. The Coupling Discs are not mandatory requirements and are sold separately as an accessory. Depending on your touch as to how you operate and maneuver your system should indicate if you are an APCD2 candidate or not.

We also recommend this product for listeners who change cabling often as the forced pressure of consistently twisting and pulling cable connectors may influence movement of the components causing scratching of the bottom chassis.

The inverted direct coupled Audio Point tip (facing skyward), located on all Sistrum Platforms, may leave a minor indentation or dimple on the bottom of a loudspeaker or a thin walled component chassis. If a small indentation is not acceptable then only the APCD2 Coupling Disc must be used - not only to protect the equipments surface but is required to insure the musical and visual performance value of the Sistrum Platform.

Installation Instructions
Positioning the Inverted APCD2 for Sistrum Platforms Applications

STEP 1:

Attach an eight inch section of Scotch® ‘Magic Transparent Tape’ along the inward curved portion (inverse radius edge) of the APCD2. No tape should be attached to or placed in between the flat portion of the APCD2 as the full surface of brass must come in contact with the equipment chassis for best results.

STEP 2:

Place the inverted APCD2 aligning the tip of the Audio Point® with the APCD2 divot and lightly attach the length of tape to the side of the Audio Point and onto the shelf. This will leave the APCD2 suspended atop the tip of the Audio Point.

STEP 3:

Carefully place and position the equipment atop the three APCD2’s and gently remove the length of tape.
